BURLINGTON, N.C.—Eric K. Weber, 86, formerly of Merry Point, passed away April 29, 2018, at Twin Lakes Retirement Community, Burlington, N.C.
Mr. Weber, a partner in the civil engineering firm Rummel, Klepper & Kahl of Baltimore, Md., retired in 1990 and moved to Merry Point.
Mr. Weber was active in the Yankee Point Yacht Club and Rappahannock River Yacht Club. Over a period of 13 years, Mr. Weber and his wife cruised the East Coast of the USA from New England to Florida, including several trips to the Bahamas on their 40-foot yawl, Blue Heron.
Retiring from sailing they purchased a 40-foot trawler in Wisconsin and cruised the inland rivers to Florida and Virginia.
In 2006, he and his wife retired to Twin Lakes Retirement Community Burlington and traveled by land to Canada and the western states in their RV.
Mr. Weber is survived by his wife, Nancy; a son; two daughters; and two grandchildren.
