Genealogy and history researcher Margaret Lumpkin Forrester recently published, Home Birth Records of Dr. Chichester Tapscott Peirce 1919-1954: Lancaster, Richmond and Northumberland Counties in Virginia, featuring information on 1,400 babies, from both African-American and Caucasian families, delivered by Dr. Peirce of Nuttsville.
The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) will host a talk and book signing by Forrester at 10 a.m. March 2 at the Lancaster Woman’s Club, l16 Mary Ball Place, Lancaster. The program also will include remarks by Dr. Peirce’s grandson and biographer, R. Page Henley Jr., reported executive director Karen Hart.
