Orchestra welcomes over 60 voices to fill chorus

More than 60 prospective chorus members in a gospel-inspired reinvention of Handel’s Messiah gathered at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wicomico Church Sunday, August 3, to learn about the Northern Neck Orchestra’s plans for a community-wide concert performance of “Too Hot to Handel: A Gospel Messiah.”

The orchestra was thrilled to see such a large group of enthusiastic people express their interest in joining with the orchestra in this musical celebration of community, said music director and conductor Michael Repper.

“Our goal was to attract a diverse group of individuals filled with a love of singing and community,” said Repper. “We exceeded our expectations…
