Conservation Poster Contest entries are due by October 11

The annual National Association of Conservation Districts’ Conservation Poster Contest provides kindergarten through 12th grade students an opportunity to convey their thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues through art.

Students may enter the contest individually or as a member of a class, homeschool group or scouting troop, reported said Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District (NNSWCD) education and outreach specialist Kathleen Watson.

The theme is “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper.” Entries from Northern Neck students must be submitted to the NNSWCD Office by October 11. Email Watson at kathleen.watson@nnswcd.org for an electronic copy of the entry form. Winning posters from local districts will be forwarded to the national competition.

For complete rules and more information, visit https://vaswcd.org/poster-contest.

Please note that any Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts who participate in the contest and submit valid entries at any level are eligible to receive the VASWCD Conservation Poster Patch.
