Nutcracker ‘obsession’ leads to community Christmas display

Bay and Cathy Rowe’s nutcracker display has won the White Stone Town Council decorating contest numerous times.

Bay Rowe is obsessed with nutcrackers, and not the 12-inch ones your grandmother collected and displayed around the holidays. Bay’s nutcrackers are eight feet tall and made of metal.

His friends and wife, Cathy, agree he has a “nutcracker problem.”

“Every year he says, I’m not making any more. This is it! Then he makes another one,” said Wayne Beverly of Williamsburg. Wayne comes up every year to help Bay bring the nutcrackers out of storage in their “Nutcracker Suite” shed and carefully place them on…
