A virtual yoga retreat was held last weekend at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka in Kilmarnock.
“We’ve been holding this retreat the third weekend in May for the past 10 years and weren’t about to stop now,” said camp director Cassie Leichty.
COVID-19 protocols meant that an in-person retreat was not possible at this time. Christine Wiggins of the retreat committee suggested holding a virtual retreat to keep the spirit and connection of the weekend going strong, said Susan Johnson, who co-chaired the retreat along with Art Gilbert.
“The idea that we’re not separate is a central yogic teaching, and even though we couldn’t be together physically, we wanted participants to feel the connection that no amount of physical distancing could diminish,” said Johnson.
