LANCASTER—Jimmie Carter on Thursday, June 25, gave the Lancaster board of supervisors the first update regarding the activities of the Lancaster County Business Relations Advisory Committee (BRAC).
Carter said the committee has been meeting weekly and added two new members, Chesapeake Bank chairman, president and chief executive officer Jeff Szyperski and Kilmarnock town manager Susan Cockrell, to the group that previously consisted of Carter, Paul Sciacchitano and Julien Patterson.
BRAC met with a consultant, Dan Gundersen of Camoin Associates. “They have completed about 1,000 economic development projects, the vast majority in rural areas,” he said.
According to Carter, Gundersen suggested the county take advantage of an opportunity with the U.S. Economic Development Administration, which has $1.5 billion in funding from the CARES Act, to “stimulate the economy” and help communities…
