Switching seasons: Football is in the air

Varsity football players at Northumberland ran agility drills on Thursday, February 18. Temperatures were in the low 30s for the first day of practice—a little chillier than the usual upper 90s on the typical first day of practice in the fall. Virginia High School League’s amended 20-21 calendar has teams across the state playing football from late February until mid April. Northumberland’s first game will be at home March 12 against St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School from Fredericksburg. Games are not open to the public.
