Lancaster schools prepare for a safe return to in-person learning

KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board on Tuesday, August 10, heard a presentation from superintendent Dan Russell regarding safety procedures as the district prepares to welcome students back to in-person learning on August 23.

Before outlining the procedures, Russell said he has been “working with school board attorneys, the health department and our insurance company,” adding that the insurance policy clearly states “that we must follow state law or statute, so we have no choice.”

“Senate Bill 1303 requires that we provide in-person instruction five days a week and also requires that we follow safety mitigation from the CDC,” said Russell.
