A conversation with a Tuskegee Airman

The Middle Peninsula African-American Genealogical and Historical Society (MPAAGHS) announces that retired U.S. Air Force Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Harry T. Stewart Jr. will be interviewed at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11.

Lt. Col. Stewart is one of the few surviving members of World War II’s 332nd Fighter Group, a group of African-American military airmen formed during the era’s culture of unit segregation by race and commonly known as the Tuskegee Airmen, reported Bessida White. The interview will be conducted by retired Army Nurse Corps Col. Karen L. Ray and will take place via Zoom as a part of MPAAGHS’s monthly meeting.
