Crabs on the menu Saturday

Lovers of steamed crabs are in luck this weekend. Two all-you-can-eat crab feasts are on tap Saturday. Attend both events and you could be eating crabs from noon to 8 p.m.!

Here are the details:

• The Northumberland County Community Center Organization Inc. will host an “all you can eat” crab feast from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at the Northumberland County Community Center, 679 Browns Store Road, Heathsville. The fee is $45 per person. For tickets, call James M. Long, 724-3240.

The menu also will include fried chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, baked beans, pasta salad, tea, sodas and water. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

The Irvington Crab Festival will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at the Irvington Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington. The menu includes crabs, barbecue, hot dogs and soft drinks. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Adult tickets are $75. Admission for children 5-12 is $20. Children younger than age 5 are free. Purchase tickets at the Steamboat Era Museum, 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays (1-4 p.m. Sundays), or at steamboateramuseum.org.
