WHITE STONE—Michael Donald Cecil passed away on August 4, 2022, at his home in White Stone after years of failing health.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Donald Cecil “Don” and Patricia Cochran Cecil “Pat.”
He is survived by his brothers, Timothy J. Cecil (Beth Swartz), R. Thomas Cecil, Alexander W. C. Cecil (Cynthia), their children Dr. Alexa Cecil and Wilson Cecil; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael was a graduate of Douglas Freeman High School where he was an accomplished tennis player and continued playing for Ferrum and Radford Colleges. He was a fun loving, care-free soul who lived his life his own way.
He began his career in Richmond, as a food rep before moving to White Stone in the late 80s, where he worked in the restaurant industry.
Mike loved the water, boating, fishing, friends and family, especially his Aunt Virginia Cecil and Beverly Wright.
The family would like to thank the many people who helped Mike through the years including Mike and Rona, Tom and Gail, Fred and Donnie, Zeb, and Gary.
Per Michael’s wishes, a memorial service will not be held.
