Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, recently announced several fall fun activities for October, beginning with the Belle Isle Fall Festival on Saturday, October 8, in the park’s picnic area.
This Friends of Belle Isle State Park sponsored event will feature pumpkin carving, wagon rides and games with prizes. Top prizes include a gift certificate to Virginia State Parks and gift certificates to local sponsors including Northern Neck Popcorn Bag and Stevie’s Ice Cream, reported park manager Katie Shepard.
The Northern Neck Master Naturalists will have activity stations for visitors to explore and the Northumberland County Animal Shelter will bring some cute friends who are looking for their “furever” home, said Shepard.
Visitors are welcome to toast a marshmallow over the campfire or enjoy a cup of warm apple cider. Parking is $5 and the pumpkins will be available for carving and decorating at $3 each; all other festival activities are free….
