RAL artists meet challenge

“Searious Cravings,” by Karyn Gallion

Responding to a recent challenge, 76 RAL Art Center members showed up with 126 pieces for the November show. 

Executive director Doug Mock recently challenged the member artists to deliver 125 pieces of art for “Anything Goes.” Part of the proceeds from the entry fees for the November exhibit will support Toys for Tots.

This exhibit features artwork in photography, acrylics, oils, fiber art, mosaic, mixed media, sculpture, fused glass, watercolors, and oil and cold wax, reported exhibit coordinator Mary Ellis. There is something for everyone in this eclectic show.   

Sandy Manning, artist/educator and avid fan of the RAL Art Center, judged this exhibit. Awards were presented November 4 at the First Friday Reception. First place was awarded to “Searious Cravings,” a stabile created in the style of Alexander Calder, by Karyn Gallion. Manning said the artist captured….
