White Stone seeks county’s cooperation on inspections

WHITE STONE—Attempting to avoid costly overruns on the town sewer project, the White Stone Town Council on November 3 took measures hoping to expedite inspections.

Following a closed session, council voted unanimously, 5-0, to send correspondence to Lancaster County regarding issues related to the public sewer project.

Irving Brittingham made the motion and William Hubbard made the second to direct town attorney Matson Terry, in collaboration with town manager Patrick Frere, to draft a letter to county administrator Don Gill with copies to the board of supervisors concerning problems with building inspections and permits related to the town sewage connections. Brittingham, Hubbard, James Smith, Kathryn “Scotty” Roop and AnnGardner Eubank voted in support.

Frere later indicated delays in the inspection process have resulted in increased costs for the project and more than the town had budgeted….
