KILMARNOCK—Theresa “Louise” Morris Dunaway of Kilmarnock died November 29, 2022.
She was born May 28, 1935 to Mattie Amie Lee and Charles Frank Morris of Ditchley.
She was educated in Northumberland County public schools and graduated from Julius Rosenwald High School.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served over the vacation Bible school arts and crafts, member of the gospel choir, women’s missionary and deaconess.
She was a stay-at-home mother for many years, a sales associate at N&P Style Shoppe and a private duty nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgin “Gus” Dunaway; her parents, Charles Frank Morris, Matte and Eugene Nutt; brother, George Frank Sr.; and sisters, Mary and Martha.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Carter; sons Barry Dunaway and Dean Dunaway; daughters, Chandra Robbins, Lynette Hall, Vernette Young, Sharon Wilson and Shawan Davis; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and goddaughter Sherry Gregory.
A funeral was held Saturday, December 10, at Calvary Baptist Church, Kilmarnock. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.
