KING GEORGE—Helen Tyler Newman, 102, of King George died December 9, 2022.
She was born on January 3, 1920, to Arthur Tyler and Nanny Pryor Tyler in Dahlgren.
She was a member of Little Ark Baptist Church as a girl and later Salem Baptist Church. She attended Edgehill Training School.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, Pete Newman; and a son, Wallace Bumbery.
She is survived by Lester Bumbery (Taeko), Al Bumbery, Jackson Newman, Dreda Newman and Valerie Cross; brother, Ren Tyler; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral was held Monday, December 19, at Salem Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
