Northumberland High School Beta Club members participate in state competition

National Beta members from Northumberland High School (NHS) are celebrating their recent participation in the Virginia Senior Beta State Convention.

The club brought home 14 winning plaques and were announced as winners of the following competitions:

• Visual arts competitions, Chloe Brann, champion, Drawing and Best in Show Div. I; Madahsyn Thomas, third, Hand-drawn Anime Div. I; Casey Dawson, champion Color Photography Div. II; Caroline Neale, third, Mixed Media Div. II; Shelby Headley, second, Fiber Arts Div. II; Ali Steele, second, Digital Art Div. II; Neale and Nathalie Biddlecomb, second, Club Trading pin; Abby Jennings and Karla Smith, second, Apparel Design.

• Academic competitions, James Baker, second, Math Div. II; Jennings, first, Language Arts Div. II; Itzel Santamaria, second, Spanish Div. I.

• Group competitions, Baker, Michael Hayden, Brady Mullins, Camdin Sisk, Steele, champion, Robotics Team.
