May 20 concert to feature works by Bach and gospel version of Handel’s Messiah

The Northern Neck Orchestra on May 20 will present an all-Baroque concert featuring a gospel version of Handel’s Messiah and classic works by Bach at the Northumberland County School Complex, 201 Academic Lane, Claraville.

The performance will showcase the Virginia premiere of Too Hot to Handel: The Gospel Messiah, an exhilarating fusion of George Frideric Handel’s masterpiece with gospel harmony, jazz, rock and blues.

The program also features three classic works by Johann Sebastian Bach….
