Members of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) started the 2023-24 school year in full force.
The BGCNN welcomed over 200 members back for the after-school program across three sites. The new site for Northumberland County is just a mile from the school at 8200 Northumberland Highway in Heathsville, said Sue Berg. In Richmond County, the club is housed in the Community’s Christian Church, 9514 Richmond Road in Warsaw. The anchor site in Lancaster County is at 517 North Main Street in Kilmarnock.
All three clubs work closely with the schools through Virginia Department of Education 21st Century grant funding to foster learning and academic success, said Berg. After school, clubs offer a safe and fun club atmosphere with youth development programs that build great futures including sports, ART+, STEM, leadership clubs and career and workforce skills development. Transportation is provided and a hot meal is served daily.
Registration for after-school programs is still open. To register, visit bgcnn.org, or call 435-9696 ext. 101.
