WHITE STONE—Jerry Lacey Smith, 81, of White Stone passed away on September 28, 2023.
He was born on December 14, 1941, in Newport News.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Franklin Smith and Loraine Johnson Smith; and his sister, Sally Smith Petty.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kea Smith; two brothers-in-law, Jim Kea of Washington, N.C., and Gene Kea of Roanoke; and niece Elizabeth Petty O’Brien.
Jerry served in the Air Force from 1962-1966.
Jerry had a much loved career as the director of special events marketing for ABU Garcia. Jerry had a passion for fishing, and he considered himself lucky to have found a job that aligned with his love for the sport.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Friends, family and loved ones are invited to come together to celebrate Jerry’s life.
