Coach says LHS soccer teams show improvement

Lancaster High School claimed a second win in as many weeks over rival Northumberland to improve to 3-2 in varsity soccer.

River Diaz scored the go-ahead goal in the second half and Isaiah Ball had the eventual game-winner to lift Lancaster over the host Indians, 3-2, Monday, April 22.

Northumberland took a 1-0 lead before Nathan Meberg tied the game on an unassisted shot.

Meberg had the assist on Diaz’s goal for a 2-1 Lancaster lead and Ball scored unassisted to put the Red Devils up 3-1 with 15 minutes remaining.

The Indians pushed through a goal with 10 minutes to go.

Lancaster goalkeeper AP Pollard had 15 saves.

The Devils also collected a 4-1 win over King & Queen on April 19 with Diaz scoring the first goal on a….
