IRVINGTON—Irvington’s short-term rental (STR) cap of 35 units has officially been reached.
Town council on Thursday, May 9, approved a conditional use permit (CUP) application submitted by Hayden DuBay to operate STR #35 at 992 King Carter Drive.
Derek DuBay noted concerns previously raised regarding not having a property manager within 60 miles of the home. DuBay said his family has been visiting Irvington for over 40 years and are very particular with how their investment properties are maintained. He assured council an agent will be hired within a week following the approval of the STR designation.
Judy Penniman moved to approve the application with Phil Robinson seconding. Wayne Nunnally, Bonnie Schaschek, and Dudley Patteson also voted in favor of the motion. Mary Cary Bradley recused herself from the vote as she is a neighboring property owner. The motion passed, 5-0-1.
