Annual Hometown Parade to honor six community leaders

The Town of Irvington will host its annual Hometown Parade at 11 a.m. July 3, along King Carter Drive. The parade will celebrate the significant contributions of six people to the community.

The parade also will feature decorated bicycles and golf carts, pets, classic cars and floats from businesses, said Irvington town council member and special events committee chairman Judy Penniman. A classic car show will follow the parade at noon on the Irvington Commons, 

The honorees are Mary Louisa Pollard, resident honoree; Jill and Larry Worth, Irvington Village Improvement Association (VIA) Volunteers of the Year; Ron Mihills, Chesapeake Academy (CA) All-Star; and Terri and Julien Patterson, Irvington Virginia Business Association (IVBA) Business of the Year.
