The Earth Day Festival will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 15 on the grounds of Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. Each year this event occurs in conjunction with the first Heathsville Farmers Market of the season.
Members of the Northumberland County Anti-Litter Committee will participate, said committee chairman Mary Martha Stewart. They will provide information about the Virginia Department of Transportation Adopt-a-Highway program for all counties in the Northern Neck.
Committee members also invite questions and suggestions about their approved, four-part action plan for a cleaner Northumberland County, said Stewart. Free cigarette disposal receptacles, along with hand sanitizer, will be available.
