Auxiliary to sponsor Ta’Leyia Elmore at Virginia Girls State

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 86 in Kilmarnock will send a girl from Lancaster High School to attend Virginia Girls State, June 18-24.

Ta’Leyia Elmore has been selected, reported Martha Mahieu. The alternate selected is Isabelle Bean.

Girls State was organized in 1937 as a national Americanism activity. It was designed to teach young women responsible citizenship, and love for God and country. Since its inception….
