Commission recommends changes in town zoning to promote residential growth

KILMARNOCK—Residents of the Town of Kilmarnock could see a growing number of multi-family developments. On Monday, December 11, the planning commission unanimously recommended council amend the town’s planned unit development (PUD) zoning ordinance. 

According to zoning administrator Marshall Sebra, proposed changes would increase the maximum density from five single-family dwellings permitted per acre to seven, and 20 multi-family dwellings per acre instead of the existing 10. 

Sebra also noted proposed changes in the minimum yard setbacks and lot areas. The minimum lot area of single-family dwellings would decrease….
