Community leaders and citizens gather for prayer and reflection

A prayer vigil was held June 14 at Northumberland County’s Old Courthouse in Heathsville.

Rev. Carl Perez reached out to all the churches in the county and asked for volunteers to speak, share a poem or sing, reported Barbara Hays. 

Welcoming the crowd who gathered, Rev. Perez noted, “We come together to find, not just a way of hearing voices, but a way of how we can move forward with these voices in mind. The church should be in the forefront, never in the back.”
