Essex convincingly posted a 46-0 win over King & Queen last Saturday to win the Region 1A football championship and earn a semifinal berth in the Class 1 state semifinal. The Trojans will travel to Region B champion Riverheads December 3 for a 2 p.m. game.
On the way to the regional championship, the Trojans amassed a 13-0 overall record and last week led the list of All Northern Neck District selections. Essex senior running back Dorian Harris was named the offensive player of the year and captured one of the Trojans’ seven spots on the offensive first team. Jack-of-all-trades EHS senior Kamren Robinson was named the defensive player of the year and filled two first team and one second team spots. Robinson was named the punter and linebacker on the first team and second-team punt returner.
Todd Jones, who led Essex on its unbeaten path, was named the Region A coach…
