In district softball action, Rappahannock and Essex collect wins over Lancaster

The Lancaster High School varsity softball team fell to 3-8 overall and 0-4 against Northern Neck District teams following recent losses to Rappahannock and Essex.

Leah Medlin drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Raiders over the Red Devils, 17-2, in a five-inning game in Warsaw on April 16.

Medlin drove in one with a double in the second inning and singled in the third to score two runs.

The Raiders batted through the lineup for 10 runs in the second inning with a double by Medlin, singles by Mia Tignor, Elizabeth Dameron and Emily Withers. Two errors and a fielder’s choice in the inning also contributed to the rally.

Rappahannock tallied 12 hits in the game while….
