Kane and Foulkes set the pace for LHS cross country squad

Matthew Kane turned in a season best time of 16:34 at Pole Green Park on Saturday, October 14, to finish as the runner-up in the Small School Boys race at the MileState.com XC Invitational. 

Kane was second among 253 runners, representing schools from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Kane is now ranked fourth in the state among Class 1 schools, according to LHS coach Joanne Webb-Fary.

There were over 200 middle and high school teams competing in 28 divisions. 

Lancaster High School took six boys and five girls to Mechanicsville to run the 5000 meter race on a rainy Saturday.

Josh Woolard had the next best finish for LHS, placing 20th with a time of 17:15….
