Lancaster adopts $44.2 million budget

LANCASTER—The Lancaster board of supervisors on Thursday, May 26, adopted a $44,267,636 county budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022. The board approved the resolution in a 5-0 vote with Craig Giese, William Smith, Ernest Palin, Jason Bellows and Bill Lee voting in favor.

On the revenue side, general property tax receipts are projected at $19,467,805; other local funds, $3,985,526; state funds, $4,849,055; federal funds, $1,464,968; school operating revenue, $6,747,985; school cafeteria, $524,038; and school textbook revenue, $123,114, for a total of $37,162,491. With a beginning balance of $7,105,145, the county will have $44,267,636 to work with.

For expenditures, which the board also voted 5-0 to appropriate, the estimated total is $38,214,336 and includes….
