Lancaster to continue virtual education for K-12

KILMARNOCK—Citing the safety of students and staff, the Lancaster school board on October 13 unanimously supported the recommendation of superintendent Dan Russell to continue online education for students and reevaluate at the board’s next meeting on November 10.

One of the factors we’re supposed to consider is the community transmission level. That has a huge impact on us,” Russell said, noting that “quite a few staff members have had to quarantine because of possible exposure and we had to shut down the primary school because of a case there.” Those cases, according to Russell, were from community transmission and not exposure within the district’s buildings.
