LANCASTER—Lora Jane “Gigi” Smith, 67, of Lancaster passed away on July 13, 2022. She was a member of White Stone United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Billie Jo Morgan. She leaves behind not only her loving husband Larry of 45 years, but also her children, Angela Beverly, Walter L. Smith Jr. “Bubba,” (Jeanette), Lora Mitchell, Justin Smith and Rebekah Smith (Tim Marsh); her sister, Judy Rydell (Rob); her brother, Jeb Morgan; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Janie grew up in White Stone on the Rappahannock River spending countless time at White Stone Beach. Janie and Larry would often spend the weekend on the boat with their children in Carter’s Creek fishing.
Most of the highlights of her life were watching her grandchildren play ball. Her grandchildren were her life, and meant everything to her.
Memorial service has been postponed until further notice.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock.
