LANCASTER—Madeline Taft Coates, 84, of Lancaster passed away on February 9, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley C. Bailey (Jack) of Lancaster; son, Louis Coates (Patricia) of Caroline; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. “Slim” Coates Jr.; daughter, Sandra Darlene Coates and great-grandson, Trevor Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Lively.
