Middlesex dominates track meet

Middlesex High School won eight individual boys events and five girls events to place first in both at a Northumberland track and field meet on May 9.

Middlesex jumper Jaquan Griffin won both the long, 21’0”, and triple, 44’4”, jumps, and Jamar Hammond cleared 6’2” to win the high jump as the Chargers scored 166 team points to win the boys meet.

In the girls meet Karate Anderson won the discus, 99’6”, Geriyah Cooke put the shot, 36’5” and Chelsey Holmes went 16’11.5” to win the long jump as the Chargers amassed 169.83 points for the win.

The Lancaster boys were second with 115.5 points. Host Northumberland was third, 75, Essex fourth. 46.5 points, Rappahannock fifth, 35.5, Westmoreland sixth, 33.5 and Carver Academy, seventh, 14.

Thrower Reece Rhodes led the Red Devils in field events….
