Northumberland battled hot weather, a lack of substitutes and teams from larger divisions in a season opening Gloucester Jamboree last Saturday.
“This was an 18-team jamboree with games going on on three fields at the same time,” said NHS varsity field hockey coach Mark Fridenstine. Northumberland is also coached by Michelle Jennings.
New Kent shut out Northumberland, 3-0; Warhill beat the Lady Indians, 3-1; and Kecoughton blanked NHS, 3-0.
