The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (NNMOAA) will present its annual Memorial Day Commemoration on May 27 at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.
The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. and will continue with a formal observance at 11:30 a.m. The keynote speaker will be former U.S. Ambassador and Virginia Governor James S. “Jim” Gilmore III, a Vietnam era U.S. Army veteran.
According to program coordinator, retired U.S. Army Maj. Edgar Doleman, the U.S. military enlisted and officer honorees will be retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Steven Giordano and retired U.S. Army Colonel William D. Johnson.
