Shiloh School Astronomy Club to host lecture and viewing April 6

Retired NASA engineer and astronomer Brad Perry will speak on stars and galaxies at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Shiloh School, 459 Shiloh School Road, Kilmarnock.

Up to 80% of the visible stars in the night sky are members of double or multiple-star systems that are gravitationally bound to one another, reported Jeff Newsome of the Shiloh School Astronomy Club.

Current estimates place the number in the Milky Way Galaxy at approximately 100 billion—that’s 100,000,000,000 stars! But the Milky Way Galaxy is only one of an estimated 200 billion to 2 trillion galaxies in the….
