WHITE STONE—Carol Martin, a Master Gardener volunteer for Virginia Cooperation Extension, on Saturday, April 29, led a Shoreline Planting and Restoration Workshop at Dug In Farms.
Martin explained how homeowners could protect their waterfront properties and maintain the native ecosystem with a living shoreline. Over two dozen attendees learned which native plants to use, how to plant and protect them, as well as where to place them, from the upland hard ground into the tidal shoreline.
