Parishioners at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville sponsored 11 of the 33 children in the Northumberland Family YMCA’s Bright Beginnings program this year.
“The YMCA’s Bright Beginnings Program is one of the most joyous ways that our community gets to engage with our young parents and children,” said St. Stephen’s rector Rev. Pilar Parnell.
The Bright Beginnings program identifies children in grades K-5 in need and equips them with the resources to ensure they have clothing, shoes and school supplies to start their school year off right.
