Tides Inn horticulturist to present native plant discussion November 16

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society (NNVNPS) will meet at noon Thursday, November 16, at Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Tides Inn resident horticulturalist Matt Little will present “Native Plants in a Public Landscape” based on his decades of experience working in public gardens from the east coast to the west coast.

Little will cover the challenges, rewards and lessons learned working in a public landscape that showcases an abundance of native plantings, said past president Kevin Howe. 

Little also will address the shoreline at the Tides Inn which includes 18,000 square feet of living shoreline with over 20,000 native shoreline and upland plants, preservation of existing old growth trees, dozens of new native trees and 1,300 linear feet of boardwalk….
