Oyster roast
The Mary Ball Washington Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge oyster roast initially scheduled for January 24 January 24, 2021, has been postponned due to the governor’s directive regarding COVID-19 restrictions. Rescheduling is dependent on the lifting of these restrictions.
Gardening seminar
The Northern Neck Master Gardeners (NNMG) recently announced the Gardening in the Northern Neck seminar (GNN) will be conducted virtually March 20. The theme of the seminar is “Be Intentional: Create Livable, Edible, Sustainable Garden Spaces.”
The fee for the virtual seminar is $25. Registration forms will be available on February 1 at www.nnmg.org.
Tides of joy
Susan Anthony-Tolbert’s newest release, “Rappahannock River Christmas: Tides of Joy and Peace for My Harp” celebrates the season, the river and its history. Proceeds will benefit the Northumberland County Historical Society and at the Lancaster Virginia Historical Society.
The CD is available for purchase at the Northumberland County Historical Society in Heathsville, 580-8581, and at the Lancaster Virginia Historical Society in Lancaster, 462-7280. Due to the pandemic, please call for gift shop hours.
