Barbecue dinner
Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern Foundation will conduct a takeout barbecue dinner fundraiser from 4-6 p.m. May 23 at The Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. The fee is $20. Pre-purchase meals at www.rhhtfoundationinc.org.
Sid Mace will make pulled pork, barbecue sauce and baked beans. The meal also comes with Tavern-made potato salad and coleslaw, a bun and brownies for dessert.
Grandparents Camp
Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern Foundation is taking registrations for Grandparents Camp July 6-10. Grandparents and their favorite young person, ages 8-14, will spend half-day sessions with the Blacksmith Guild, Tavern Quilt Guild, Spinners & Weavers and Woodworkers Guild. Participants will make a project every day.
The fee is $100 per adult/child couple. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. To register, call 580-3377, or visit www.rhhtfoundationinc.org If health concerns dictate the cancellation of this program, participants may receive a refund.
Staying afloat
The Steamboat Era Museum is conducting a fundraising campaign through June 30. Twenty percent of all monies raised during the campaign will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck’s meals program.
