‘Walk on the Wild Side’ to explore vernal pools

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists and Belle Isle State Park will hold their monthly “Walk on the Wild Side” nature stroll from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, March 9. The hike commences from the Camp Store, Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster.

The theme is “Vernal Pools and Park Wetlands” and is open to all, said chapter past president Kevin Howe. Signup is requested.

Master Naturalists will share a variety of natural history topics but focus this month on the wetland and vernal pools that are so vital to….
