KILMARNOCK—Brian Oniel Lockley died October 11, 2023, at Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
He was born on August 31, 1969, to parents Leroy Lockley and Mary Eliza Smith Lockley in Kilmarnock, at the A. B. Gravatt Clinic.
Brian was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, trustee and member of the men’s chorus. He attended Lancaster County schools.
He was employed by Theodore P. Fisher and Sons as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, Omega Protein in Cameron, La., as chief engineer and auto diesel mechanic, and later in life he was known as “Mr. Fix It,” doing odd jobs.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Mary Lockley; and two brothers, Ralph B. Wood and Louis W. Smith.
He is survived by his daughter, Shakeya M. Lockley; and his granddaughter, Honestee Lockley-Crawford, both of Savanah, Ga., his sister Evelyn L. Spencer of Victoria; two brothers, Edison B. Smith Sr. of Lancaster and Anthony Q. Wood Sr. of Hampton.
A funeral was held Friday, October 20, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, White Stone. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
