KILMARNOCK—Following a presentation by the Lancaster 2035 committee, the Kilmarnock planning commission on Monday, November 13, moved forward with plans to update ordinances to allow for more dwelling units per acre in future development.
Representing the committee, Paul Sciacchitano presented plans and data highlighting community needs and how the county plans to address those needs.
The committee’s mission, according to Sciacchitano, is to define the goals of the county’s future and address the major dangers and concerns facing the area.
The goal is to create an economically successful rural region known for its heritage, arts and water and nature-based recreation, have a vibrant school system, and have safe and affordable living for all.
