One person is dead and a suspect has been taken into custody after a shooting in White Stone Wednesday afternoon.
According to Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie, Matt Chapman, 38, of 232 Beach Road, White Stone, has been charged with first degree murder, malicious wounding and reckless use of a firearm and is in custody in the Lancaster County jail.
The sheriff’s department responded to a 911 call of a shooting at 232 Beach Road at 5:15 p.m. March 18. The shooting victim, John Carter Gordon, 43, of Kilmarnock, was pronounced dead at the scene.
